If God speaks the language of the flesh, how do we become fluent in our own personal dialect? How do we learn to listen for the often subtle tones of God’s voice in the wisdom of our bodies?
Join me for a fall group exploring practices of embodiment in the context of Christian spirituality.
We might call it a language school!
Perhaps you are already quite conversational with the Spirit’s movements through your body and want to find a community of practice. Or perhaps you long to get more comfortable with this language of the flesh and feel like a newbie.
There are no levels to this language school so all are welcome who desire to explore deepening our connection to listening for the Sacred within our own beings.
Sliding Scale Registration: $80/$100/$120
We will meet every other Monday, starting on October 7th,
for 5 sessions.
What to Expect:
This group will be a mix of book club meets yoga class. We will spend significant time each session practicing different body awareness exercises and embodied prayer practices - and sharing what we notice.
We will also read a short text during the week that we will reflect on together. Texts will be drawn from books like "Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor, "This Here Flesh" by Cole Arthur Riley, and others.
Our sharing circle and conversation times will also be focused on practicing staying present in our bodies while listening to others and while speaking.
A Typical Session will include:
