Practicing Incarnation:

Lenten Prayer Group

Sadly, I am no longer able to offer this group due to some ongoing health challenges.
I hope to try again in the future! Sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page for updates....

“Stop imagining things! Stay still!”

We’ve already come a long way beyond these kinds of strictures in Christian community, but you still may not have a lot of experience with prayer that invites you to let your imagination run free or that encourages your body to move.

This Lent, I invite you to join me in practicing two forms of prayer that I have found to be transformative: Gospel Contemplation and movement prayer.

Wednesdays evenings,

Feb.24 – Mar. 31

7:30 – 8:45 pm

Zoom

Gospel Contemplation is a prayer practice where you enter into a story in the Bible through your imagination. After setting an intention, you take a role in the story, as if you were really there, and see where the Spirit takes you.

And in my experience, this is never a replay of what happens in the text, the story is a jumping off place for God to meet you in all sorts of beautiful, peculiar, and surprising ways.

We’ll imagine our way through the Lenten texts and integrate movement along the way.

A typical gathering will include:

  • Opening movement prayer
  • Gospel Contemplation – praying with the text
  • Responding through movement
  • Circle Sharing
  • Closing Blessing

Registration is set at $60,

however, I want this space to be accessible to anyone who is interested.
